Young People F---ing

There's been a lot of talk lately about bill C-10, which would give the Heritage Minister power to deny tax credits to television and film products deemed offensive or contrary to public policy even after government agencies have invested. Director Sarah Polley has weighed in, Toronto mayor David Miller told the Senate banking committee, “This industry is of incredible importance,” and its artistic and financial success depends on its “continued ability to work in a field where the boundaries are well defined and political interference or censorship will not be tolerated.” Me? I think it's a sticky issue as soon as money gets involved, but the long and the short of it is that a film budget of $1.5M, even if it was funded entirely by the Canadian government, only cost me about six cents. I spend way more than that on my cable bill, and there's tons of crap on cable that I don't want to see. Anyway, it looks like an interesting film...
