Basia Bulat makes me barf

So far in our journey through the final ten shortlisted Polaris Music Prize nominees, I have been really enjoying the music, and rather proud to be Canadian. That all ended today. People are going nuts over Basia Bulat, and I can't for the life of me understand why. First of all, she's boring and unimaginative, her voice is really annoying, and her lyrics are terrible. Secondly, if you're going to play the an Autoharp, you'd better be accompanying an elementary school choir. Seriously, it takes about the same level of skill and musicianship to play an Autoharp as it does to play Guitar Hero. You want to stand out? Learn the zither.

So, if you're still in, scroll down. From her debut album Oh, My Darling, shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize for some reason, Basia Bulat's In the Night.
The shortlisters:
Black Mountain - In The Future, Plants And Animals - Parc Avenue, Basia Bulat - Oh, My Darling, Stars - In Our Bedroom After The War, Caribou - Andorra, Shad - The Old Prince, Kathleen Edwards - Asking For Flowers, Two Hours Traffic - Little Jabs, Holy Fuck - LP, The Weakerthans - Reunion Tour

That was terrible - I could only watch one minute of it. Also, te dancing skeletons part was a (poorly done, but) total ripoff of Daft Punk's Around the World video.

It seems to be typical for Canadian music. Make a wonderful ice cream sundae of talent and originality, then shit on it.

Why does the worst of our talent get hailed the most? This is why I still have to suffer through Jann Arden, who by all respects, should have been banished from ever making another album.

At least Jann Arden is funny.

I would like to point out that this video is full of extra FAIL on account of the furries present in it.
