Weakerthans - Reunion Tour

What can I say about the Weakerthans? Their lyrics are sly: punny, introspective and touching. Their sound is catchy if at some times a little tired and repetitive. They've done really well for themselves, and for a band based in Winterpeg, I'd say they've done spectacularly. Their latest album, Reunion Tour, is number ten in our journey through the Polaris Music Prize shortlisters, and is a welcome addition in my books. Take a sample with Tournament of Hearts below...

The shortlisters:
Black Mountain - In The Future, Plants And Animals - Parc Avenue, Basia Bulat - Oh, My Darling, Stars - In Our Bedroom After The War, Caribou - Andorra, Shad - The Old Prince, Kathleen Edwards - Asking For Flowers, Two Hours Traffic - Little Jabs, Holy Fuck - LP, The Weakerthans - Reunion Tour

Linked in the video: Weakerthans' entire discography, including early albums reissued, is click-through-to-buy; check out their MySpace by clicking on the logo for more cuts from Reunion Tour.
