Man on Wire - Philippe Petit

Something about this story pulls at me. Maybe it's Petit's youthful whimsical nature. I'm not sure. This is a documentary film about an event that happened before I was born; in fact, an event I just learned about. French high-wire artist Philippe Petit engaged himself and his friends in daring plan to pull a stunt like no other. They stretched a wire between the two World Trade Center towers (110 stories up and about 200 feet long) and on the morning of August 7, 1974, he danced and played along it to the delight of onlookers. Hailed as 'the artistic crime of the century,' the World Trade Center walk took six years of planning, dreaming, lying and scheming, and was over in forty-five minutes. Just watch the trailer for Man on Wire...
